2022 Whistler Vineyard, Estate Viognier, West Sonoma Coast
The fruit for the Estate Viognier comes from vineyard blocks that were planted between 2003 and 2015 using clonal material that originated from Condrieu in France. The 2022 Viognier was fermented in French oak barrels and aged in sandstone amphora. The ageing in amphora deepens the texture while preserving the vibrant viognier aromatics. The wine has a fragrant nose of rainier cherries, ripe nectarine, guava, melon, fresh fig, and white flowers. The mouthfeel is rich and velvety with a lingering finish of stone fruits and mineral notes. As in prior years, the wine is fully dry to showcase the classic expression of viognier.Ready to enjoy now and will continue to develop for the next 5+ years.
