2022 Malvasia Bianca Betty's Vineyard, Napa Valley

The 2022 Malvasia Bianca was made with 50% whole clusters and fermented for 32 days in a closed amphora. The wine was aged for 10 months in neutral French oak and bottled without fining or filtration. We like to experiment with this wine, and the 2022 Malvasia had less time in contact with the skins resulting in a lighter, less tannic, and more supple version. The nose is very fragrant with classic Malvasia aromas, exotic fruits, and green herbs and spice that comes with the inclusion of skins and stems during the fermentation. On the palate, the wine is juicy with great texture and mild tannins. Ready to drink now but will continue to develop complexity with age.
